Microsoft announced a groundbreaking investment plan for Brazil, committing R$14.7 billion ($2.7 billion) over three years to enhance cloud infrastructure and artificial intelligence capabilities in the country. This initiative is a significant milestone in Brazil’s digital transformation journey and aligns with the government’s “New Brazil Industry” mission for technological advancement.
Not long ago, the tech giant also declared a $1.3 billion investment boost for Mexico. Vice President Geraldo Alckmin praised Microsoft’s commitment, emphasizing its contribution to Brazil’s industrial strategy and pushing total private sector investments in digital transformation beyond R$100 billion ($18.3 billion).
Microsoft’s plan includes not only infrastructure development but also a focus on human capital. The company introduced ConectaAI, a program aiming to train 5 million Brazilians in AI skills by partnering with 26 organizations and collaborating with the Ministry of Labor and Employment.
By expanding its cloud and AI infrastructure in São Paulo state, Microsoft continues to pave the way for Brazil’s potential as a hub for technological innovation, economic growth, and as an emerging AI and cloud innovation leader in Latin America.
