Kwara reaffirms dedication to livestock investment, job creation.

In a bid to boost the livestock sector in Kwara State, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to investing in essential infrastructure and equipment. The governor made this known at the commencement of a training workshop for 100 extension agents and farmers on small ruminant production and crop residue processing.

Hosted at the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation, the event aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and tools needed to overcome challenges within the livestock sector. AbdulRazaq emphasized the importance of implementing best practices in animal husbandry to achieve healthier livestock and improved yields while reducing environmental impact.

In a statement released by the Project Communication and ICT Officer, the governor highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing livestock capacity through training and educational initiatives. Additionally, the distribution of crop residue crushers and pelleting machines to livestock farmers marked a significant step towards realizing the sector’s full potential.

The training session, facilitated by industry experts, aimed to increase proficiency among extension agents, improve livelihoods, and boost the economy. Participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity provided by the governor to become self-reliant and contribute positively to the state’s livestock sector.
