Israel strikes Hezbollah HQ in massive explosion, rattling Beirut

The Israeli military launched airstrikes on Hezbollah’s central headquarters in Beirut, resulting in massive explosions and destruction. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s vow to continue the campaign against Hezbollah further dashed hopes for a ceasefire to prevent an all-out war.

The strikes killed many people, including civilians, and sparked intense fighting between Israel and Hezbollah. Israel’s goal is to weaken Hezbollah’s military capabilities and push them away from the border, unlike the broader objectives in the current conflict in Gaza.

Despite Israel’s targeted efforts, Hezbollah remains defiant and continues to launch rockets into Israeli territory. The situation remains tense, with both sides engaging in retaliatory actions and thousands displaced from their homes.

Despite international calls for peace, the conflict shows no signs of abating, with both sides entrenched in a volatile and deadly confrontation.
