Shocking news has emerged from India where five people were arrested for the murder of a seven-year-old boy in a ritual sacrifice. The incident took place in a public school where the victim lived in Hathras, near the famous Taj Mahal.
School director Dinesh Baghel was accused of hiding the boy’s body in his car after the heinous act, which was believed to bring good fortune. Police revealed that the boy was killed as part of a black magic ceremony led by Baghel’s father.
The arrests included Baghel, his father, and three other teachers from the school. While details about the child’s death were not disclosed, reports mentioned a post-mortem examination being conducted.
Ritual sacrifices for religious purposes are not uncommon in remote Indian regions, with the National Crime Records Bureau registering 103 cases from 2014 to 2021. This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of superstitions and the need for stricter measures to prevent such atrocities.
