Youth-Led Action Plans Showcased by Generations For Peace

Generations For Peace (GFP) celebrated the successful conclusion of the Thiqa programme at its headquarters in Al Hussein Youth City. The programme, implemented in collaboration with the Greater Municipalities of Al Salt and Al Karak, focused on enhancing youth civic engagement through dialogue and capacity-building.

The initiative, supported by the Netherlands-based Porticus, brought together 36 youth leaders from Al Karak and Al Balqa governorates for specialized training sessions on dialogue, policy analysis, and formulation. The participants developed two action plans aimed at addressing the unique needs of their communities.

During the closing event, the youth presented their plans, which included initiatives such as launching a fellowship program in Al Salt to promote sustainable youth involvement in municipal activities and developing the tourism sector in Al Karak to create job opportunities for the youth.

Lama Al-Hattab, CEO of GFP, commended the collaboration between youth and municipal officials, emphasizing the importance of dialogue in building trust and fostering positive relationships. Abdul Razaq Al-Khalifat from Al-Salt Municipality and Sajida Al-Ruhaifat from Greater Karak Municipality also highlighted the program’s impact on youth leadership and civic engagement.
