PM Shehbaz Sharif Strengthens Bilateral Ties at UNGA Meetings
During the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged in productive meetings with UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian.
The discussions with the UK counterpart focused on enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in trade and investment. PM Shehbaz highlighted Pakistan’s economic reforms and emphasized the country’s efforts in combatting climate change and terrorism, seeking collective action from the international community.
Additionally, the meeting with Iran’s President aimed at strengthening trade, investment, connectivity, and cultural ties between the two nations. Both leaders discussed the importance of good neighborly relations and mutual cooperation.
Furthermore, PM Shehbaz reiterated support for Palestine, calling for a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza and an end to aggression in the region. The meetings helped reaffirm support and identify opportunities for further collaboration.
