Palestinian Leader Urges Global Ban on Arms to Israel to End Violence

Palestinian President Calls for Halt to Weapons Supply to Israel

Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas pleaded with the international community to stop sending weapons to Israel, accusing Washington of providing diplomatic cover and weapons for Israel’s war in Gaza. With the death toll in Gaza reaching over 41,000, Abbas urged for an end to the bloodshed, particularly targeting the United States for its support of Israel.

In a passionate address to the UN General Assembly, Abbas called for an immediate halt to the violence, emphasizing the responsibility of the world to intervene in the crisis. He criticized the US for vetoing resolutions condemning Israel’s actions and supplying weapons that have resulted in the deaths of innocent civilians.

The ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine has left thousands displaced, with Hamas’s attack on Israel serving as a catalyst for the current situation. Despite international calls for peace, the violence persists, fueled by external support for Israel.

As Israel’s key ally, the US has been a prominent contributor to the conflict, providing substantial aid and military resources. The stark imbalance in power has led to devastating consequences for Palestinian civilians, with little hope for an end to the cycle of violence.
