Netflix Announces “East of Eden” Limited Series Starring Florence Pugh

Netflix has given the green light to “East of Eden,” a seven-episode limited series featuring Hollywood star Florence Pugh. Based on John Steinbeck’s classic 1952 novel, which was previously adapted into a 1955 film by Elia Kazan, the show will be brought to life by Elia Kazan’s granddaughter Zoe Kazan and co-showrunner Jeb Stuart.
Joining Pugh in this upcoming project are Christopher Abbott, Mike Faist, and Hoon Lee. Kazan expressed her excitement for the series, emphasizing the personal connection she feels to the material. The production has been in the works since 2022, with Pugh attached from the start. Alongside Kazan, directors Garth Davis and Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre will serve as executive producers.
Set to helm the first four episodes, Davis and Clermont-Tonnerre will direct the last three. As fans anticipate Pugh’s role in the Marvel film “Thunderbolts*,” they can also look forward to seeing her in this captivating adaptation.
