Motshekga receives remains of liberation fighters who perished in exile

Bringing closure to families who have lost loved ones is a priority for the South African government, as expressed by Minister Motshekga. Despite challenges in recovering remains, efforts are being made to assist families in finding peace.

Thembi Malao from the department of sport, arts, and culture highlights the importance of honoring those who suffered for South Africa’s freedom. A homecoming ceremony and reburial ceremonies will provide an opportunity for families to pay their respects.

The government aims to help families find healing and closure through various means, whether it be visiting the place where their loved ones passed or participating in ceremonies. This commitment reflects the government’s dedication to acknowledging past injustices and preserving heritage.

Joining in this mission is not only a duty but a privilege, as it allows future generations to remember and honor the sacrifices made for their present freedom.
