Mayawati criticizes UP govt’s eateries name display order, calls it ‘political’

In a bold statement, Bahujan Samaj Party Chief Mayawati criticized the Uttar Pradesh government for its recent directive to display the names and addresses of eatery operators, proprietors, and managers at all food centers. She suggested that the move was more about electoral politics than food safety, sparking a debate on social media.

Earlier this week, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath mandated the display of operator information, along with the requirement for chefs and waiters to wear masks and gloves. He also made it compulsory for hotels and restaurants to install CCTV cameras. Mayawati highlighted the similarity of this directive to actions taken during the Kanwar Yatra.

Furthermore, Mayawati expressed her concern over the Tirupati laddu controversy, emphasizing the need for introspection on the manipulation of people’s faith for political gains. She questioned the true culprits behind such egregious acts and called for a reevaluation of the situation. The statement comes amidst growing unrest over food safety and hygiene practices in various establishments.

Overall, Mayawati’s criticism sheds light on the intersection of politics and public welfare, urging for more transparent and effective measures to ensure the safety and trust of consumers.
