Jordan Plans Consultation Meetings for 2025 World Disability Summit

Inclusive Social Protection for Persons with Disabilities – The Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD) in Jordan conducted consultative sessions to prepare for the Third World Disability Summit in Berlin in 2025. Co-organized by Jordan, Germany, and the International Disability Alliance, this summit aims to improve the lives of persons with disabilities through global, regional, and local collaboration.

Supported by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office, the sessions brought together various organizations and stakeholders in the disability sector. Jordan will host a regional summit in November to discuss preparations for the World Summit in 2025.

Experts highlighted the importance of inclusive social security for persons with disabilities, emphasizing the need for comprehensive support services. The workshops also focused on enhancing the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the workplace through international labor standards and strategies.
