Israel Ignores Truce Proposal, Continues Bombing Lebanon

Israel’s prime minister rejected proposals for a temporary ceasefire with Hezbollah, continuing air strikes on Lebanon. President Biden and President Macron proposed a 21-day truce, quickly dismissed by Netanyahu’s office. Foreign Minister Katz reiterated the message, stating there would be no ceasefire.

Israeli attacks in Lebanon resulted in 72 deaths, including 23 killed in a strike on a building in Younine. Lebanese media reported further bombings near Nabatieh, with casualties on both sides. Hezbollah launched missiles towards Israeli military facilities in retaliation.

Golan’s Proposal

Opposition leader Yair Golan suggested a shorter ceasefire for negotiations with international guarantees. Meanwhile, Gideon Sa’ar urged intensified air strikes on Lebanon.

Qatar stated no formal mediation had started for a ceasefire. The US and France’s proposal garnered support from multiple countries, with Macron urging de-escalation in Lebanon and Gaza.
