D K Shivakumar: No one claimed CM post

In a recent development in Karnataka, Deputy Chief Minister and state Congress chief D K Shivakumar dismissed any claims for the Chief Minister post amid an ongoing Lokayukta probe against incumbent Siddaramaiah. The probe is related to the alleged MUDA sites allotment ‘scam’, with a special court ordering an investigation against Siddaramaiah.

Shivakumar emphasized that there is no merit to the allegations and called it a political conspiracy. He affirmed his support for Siddaramaiah and ruled out any possibility of resignation. Additionally, Shivakumar denied reports of any party leader staking claim for the CM post, including himself as the deputy CM.

The probe is based on allegations of illegalities in allotting sites to Siddaramaiah’s wife by MUDA. The controversy stems from compensatory sites being allotted in an upscale area, raising questions about the legality of the transaction. The investigation was initiated based on a complaint filed by an RTI activist.
