The Colombian government has unveiled an ambitious investment portfolio worth COP$ 160 trillion ($38 billion) for energy and climate transition. Led by Laura Sarabia, this plan targets both private and public sectors to revolutionize sustainable development in Colombia.

Supported by the Inter-American Development Bank, Colombia has made significant progress in energy and climate transition. The upcoming unveiling in Barranquilla will showcase various sectors like energy transition, agribusiness, sustainable tourism, and environmental projects.

This comprehensive approach aims to provide a clear roadmap for Colombia’s energy transition, emphasizing the importance of private sector involvement. The government seeks collaboration with domestic and international entities to drive this initiative forward, highlighting the scale and ambition of Colombia’s transition plans.

Susana Muhamad, Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, emphasized the significance of attracting financing for this initiative. The upcoming Fair of Economies for Life in Barranquilla will play a crucial role in securing funds for Colombia’s energy and climate transition.

The International Energy Agency predicts record energy investments in Latin America and the Caribbean, highlighting the region’s growth potential in clean energy.
