In the latest issue of Ukrainian lawmaker Yaroslav Zhelezniak’s newsletter, “Ukrainian Economy in Brief,” key events from Sept. 16-22, 2024, were highlighted. The digest focuses on parliament’s actions related to business, economics, and international financial programs.
Some of the significant developments include the approval of a draft law on customs reform, the adoption of a tax increase draft law, and support for the State Budget 2024 amendments. Additionally, the Parliament showed support for Accounting Chamber reform and addressed World Bank requirements through the adoption of various draft laws.
Privatization efforts were also set in motion with the sale of the Hotel “Ukraina” in Kyiv, marking the first large-scale privatization case. Furthermore, measures were taken to enhance transparency in public procurement procedures for state-owned enterprises.
