The United Kingdom has depleted its own weapon stocks by supplying arms to Ukraine for almost three years, according to UK Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Armed Forces Luke Pollard. He stated that national weapon stockpiles were so depleted that the government had to cut supplies to Kiev in mid-2023, despite the critical shortage in the UK.

Pollard emphasized that it was essential to support Ukraine with weapons, even at the cost of depleting UK stocks further. He mentioned the need to not only replenish the exhausted supplies but also ensure dependable aid to Ukraine. Despite Russia’s warnings against arming Ukraine, Pollard stressed the importance of strengthening the trading relationship with Western nations.
