His protectionist rhetoric extended to threatening tariffs on American companies like John Deere if they move production to Mexico. Despite his previous tariffs, the U.S. lost industrial jobs during Trump’s presidency. He now promises an industrial renaissance, contrasting with President Joe Biden’s protectionist approach. Trump’s focus on extreme protectionism aims to bring jobs and wealth back to the U.S.
