Trump updated on Iran assassination threats: campaign

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was briefed on Tuesday by US intelligence officials about alleged threats from Iran to assassinate him, as reported by his campaign. The campaign stated that there were specific threats from Iran to destabilize and sow chaos in the United States by targeting Trump.

Iran has denied these claims in the past, and no response was received from their permanent mission to the UN in New York. Despite this, Trump mentioned on his Truth Social platform that there were significant threats on his life by Iran.

Federal authorities are investigating multiple incidents related to possible assassination attempts on Trump, but so far, there is no indication of Iranian involvement in any of them. Additionally, US government agencies recently disclosed Iranian hackers’ attempts to influence the US election by sending stolen material from Trump’s campaign to members of Joe Biden’s team.

This ongoing tension between the US and Iran has a long history, with both countries accusing each other of interference in internal affairs. The situation remains complex and continues to evolve as the November 5 elections draw closer.
