Trump criticizes Zelensky for not negotiating with Moscow

In a recent campaign rally, former U.S. President and Republican nominee Donald Trump criticized President Volodymyr Zelensky for not making a deal with Russia and making negative remarks about Trump. Zelensky, who is in the U.S. to garner support for a global peace summit and present his victory plan, has not scheduled any meetings with Trump. Trump pledged to end U.S. involvement in the war in Ukraine if elected, while accusing Zelensky of favoring the Democrats and interfering in the upcoming election.

Republican leaders also accused Zelensky of meddling in the election by visiting an ammunition factory in Joe Biden’s hometown, demanding the dismissal of Ukraine’s ambassador to the U.S. and launching an investigation into the alleged misuse of government funds by the Biden-Harris administration. Zelensky criticized Trump’s plans for ending the war, emphasizing that it should not come at Ukraine’s expense.

The escalating tensions between Trump and Zelensky highlight the political complexities surrounding Ukraine and U.S. involvement in the region.
