The Labor Ministry has introduced a repatriation guide on its Rebrain Greece platform, offering valuable information on transferring the tax domicile of Greek professionals from abroad, along with financial incentives and procedures to benefit from them. This comprehensive manual is designed for both Greeks and foreigners seeking to settle and work in Greece. It covers various aspects such as obtaining a tax identification number, social security registration, labor issues, education, healthcare, residence permits, and more.
The initiative aims to bring back skilled Greek workers who left the country during the economic crisis, with around 350,000 already returning according to Eurostat. In light of the shortage of skilled workers and the rise of remote work due to the pandemic, the guide also targets individuals choosing Greece as their country of residence.
Konstantinos Agrapidas, the general director of Labor Relations at the ministry, highlighted the importance of the guide and its availability on the Greek Embassy website in London. The government’s goal is to attract more highly skilled professionals back to support the country’s development.
