Morocco Takes the Lead in Digital Transformation with “Digital Morocco 2030” Strategy
Morocco made a significant leap towards modernizing public services and driving the digital economy with the unveiling of its ambitious “Digital Morocco 2030” strategy. The strategy, discussed by key government officials, focuses on enhancing e-government services and leveraging digital technologies across sectors.
Minister of Agriculture, Mohammed Sadik, emphasized the crucial role of digitalization in public services, citing projections that over 70% of agricultural growth by 2050 will come from digital techniques. He highlighted the Generation Green 2020-2030 strategy, aiming to digitize 20 agricultural sectors, thus improving services for stakeholders and increasing farmers’ incomes.
Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, showcased the ministry’s commitment to digital initiatives, showcasing projects like PortNet for streamlined port access. He also mentioned ongoing efforts in digital data management, including weather forecast alerts and regulating unauthorized wells with digital meters.
Omar Seghrouchni, President of CNDP, emphasized the importance of data protection in the digital age to foster trust among citizens and drive digital policies’ success. These discussions showcase Morocco’s dedication to integrating digital solutions across sectors, propelling the nation as a leader in digital transformation in the region.
