The Deceptive Notion of the “International Community”
By Iqbal Jassat
The concept of an International Community, as portrayed by Western nations, is flawed and misleading.
In the ongoing propaganda war between Israel and Hamas, the term “International Community” is often used to falsely suggest global consensus against Hamas. However, in reality, only a minority of countries support Israel’s demonization of Hamas, with the majority rejecting this narrative.
Noam Chomsky highlights how political terms like “terrorism” are used in a doctrinal sense to serve specific agendas, as seen in Israel’s dehumanization of Palestinians and their resistance movements.
UNGA Resolution Against Israel
A recent UN General Assembly resolution condemning Israel’s illegal presence in Palestinian territories received overwhelming support, demonstrating the true will of the International Community. Despite pushback from pro-Israel lobbies, the resolution passed with a clear majority.
Reaffirming International Law
The resolution aligns with the ruling of the International Court of Justice, emphasizing Israel’s unlawful actions in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. The ICJ’s unequivocal verdict reinforces the need for Israel to adhere to international law.
