Russia Aims for Peace in Ukraine Conflict, Says Kremlin Spokesman
In a recent briefing, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that peace in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine will only be achieved once Moscow fulfills all its military operation objectives. This statement comes in response to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s optimism about approaching peace talks.
Peskov emphasized that every war eventually leads to peace but reiterated that Russia remains committed to achieving its set goals in the conflict with Ukraine. The Kremlin representative hinted that the military operation could conclude once these objectives are met, whether through military or diplomatic means.
Zelensky, on the other hand, is promoting a “victory plan” in the United States, focusing on strengthening Ukraine and its defense forces to compel Russian President Putin to seek a diplomatic resolution to the war. The plan includes proposals for Western security guarantees, territorial negotiations, advanced weapon deliveries, and international financial aid for Ukraine.
While Zelensky’s initiative garners attention, Moscow struggles to understand the specifics of the proposal, with Russian officials expressing skepticism about the Ukrainian leader’s intentions.
