Iranian President: Gaza Truce Essential for Global Peace

In a passionate speech at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, the Iranian president emphasized the importance of ending the Israeli occupation and apartheid in Palestine and achieving an immediate ceasefire in Gaza for international development and peace. He highlighted the disturbing realities of state terrorism and violence against civilians, particularly children and women.

The president called for the elimination of weapons of mass destruction in the region without preconditions, advocating for a strong, united, safe, and stable region where resources are utilized for economic and social development and addressing common challenges.

Addressing the issue of unilateral sanctions imposed on Iran and other countries by the United States and its allies, he stressed that such measures hinder sustainable development goals. He proposed that the UN Secretary General compile a comprehensive report on the impact of sanctions in collaboration with affected countries.

Ultimately, the president underlined the importance of respecting countries’ right to development, fairness, and fulfilling commitments made by developed nations to support developing ones for achieving peace and development globally.
