Imran Khan to be transferred to military court via constitutional amendments

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has raised concerns about proposed constitutional amendments that could lead to party founder Imran Khan facing a military trial. Speaking on ARY News’ program Off the Record, Raja criticized the idea of creating a court superior to the Supreme Court and expressed his firm belief in upholding Supreme Court orders.

Raja claimed that the amendments were designed to distort the Constitution’s fundamental structure and potentially ban the PTI. He further alleged that the government’s motive behind these changes was to suppress the PTI and subject its leader to military court proceedings, which he deemed as a violation of constitutional values.

Highlighting the importance of transparency and honesty in a constitutional system, Raja condemned any attempt to deceive in the governance process. In a related development, the Islamabad High Court recently addressed a petition from Imran Khan regarding a potential military trial in cases related to the May 9 incident, with the court informed that no decision had been made by the government on this matter.
