A tragic incident unfolded in Abyan governorate, southern Yemen, as a foreign citizen was killed and two others were injured in the Tamhan camp, under the control of UAE-funded Transitional Council factions.
According to human rights sources, the victim, an Ethiopian migrant, lost his life in a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical altercation with fellow migrants in the Khanfar district.
The altercation, stemming from past issues among the migrants, resulted in tragic consequences as the victim’s body was taken to the hospital morgue while the injured were rushed for medical treatment.
This incident sheds light on the prevailing security chaos in Abyan and other southern governorates, where state authorities have been absent since 2016, leaving migrants vulnerable to such unfortunate events.
