China’s Commerce Ministry strongly opposes proposed U.S. regulations restricting connected vehicles from China, including software and hardware related to the technology. These actions, labeled as protectionism by MOFCOM, distort the automotive industry supply chain and harm American consumers. MOFCOM accuses the U.S. of economic coercion and interference with business cooperation, urging the U.S. to withdraw the measures and stop unjustly targeting Chinese enterprises. China vows to protect the rights of its enterprises.
Overall, the U.S. restrictions are denounced as unfair, lacking factual basis, and damaging to global trade. MOFCOM calls for a halt to discriminatory practices and a return to fair competition in the connected vehicles market.
