US deploys additional troops as Israel strikes Lebanon

In response to Israel’s large-scale military operation against Lebanon, the US is deploying additional troops to the Middle East. This move comes as tensions escalate between Israel and Hezbollah, with the Israeli strikes on Lebanon resulting in significant casualties.

The Pentagon confirmed the deployment of extra troops but did not disclose details for security reasons. The US currently has a substantial military presence in the region to protect American interests and support Israel if needed.

Meanwhile, Israel launched Operation “Northern Arrows” against Hezbollah, targeting terrorist infrastructure. The IDF claimed to have struck approximately 1,600 Hezbollah targets, resulting in hundreds of casualties. In response, Hezbollah declared an “open-ended battle of reckoning.”

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has been in communication with Israeli officials to de-escalate the situation. The US is working on diplomatic solutions to ease tensions and prevent a full-scale conflict. Discussions on restoring peace will take place during the UN General Assembly.
