Uzbek-Azerbaijani Media Forum: Combating Disinformation in the Digital Age

The Uzbek-Azerbaijani Media Forum, themed “In Search of Truth in the Digital Age: Combating Disinformation,” recently kicked off in Tashkent. The event was inaugurated with a speech by Ahmad Ismayilov, the Executive Director of the Media Development Agency of Azerbaijan, highlighting the strong ties between the two countries under the leadership of Presidents Aliyev and Mirziyoyev.

The forum aims to enhance media development, combat disinformation, and promote cooperation among media outlets. With information being a critical resource, speakers emphasized the need for sharing experiences and adopting new skills to counter misinformation and maintain public trust in government institutions.

Azerbaijani media representatives engaged in knowledge-sharing sessions with Uzbek counterparts to strengthen collaboration and ensure secure information exchange. Additionally, attendees were briefed on Azerbaijan’s initiatives for COP29 and urged to support sustainable approaches in recovery efforts in liberated territories.

The Uzbek-Azerbaijani Media Forum sets the stage for a dynamic exchange of ideas and strategies to navigate the challenges of the digital era and uphold journalistic integrity.
