ECP Sindh Finalizes Preparations for Local Government By-Elections
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Sindh has completed preparations for local government (LG) by-elections on 77 municipal seats in the province. The by-elections will also include vacant chairman, vice chairman, and ward councilor seats.
The ECP Sindh has submitted the schedule and proposed names for district returning officers and returning officers to the ECP for approval. The final schedule will be announced soon.
Recently, Chief Election Commissioner Sultan Akram Raja mentioned that the ECP is ready to conduct LG polls in Punjab. The delimitation of constituencies in Punjab has been finalized, and the demarcation of UCs and wards in Islamabad will be completed by July 23.
While legal complexities may cause delays in the polls, preparations are underway. The summary of reserved seats for the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation has been sent to the Prime Minister’s Office.
