Russian teens ignite helicopter in Omsk with Molotov cocktail

In a shocking incident in the Russian city of Omsk, two highschoolers set fire to an Mi-8 helicopter at a local airbase for a promised sum of 1.83 million rubles. The teens, identified as Roma and Anton, aged 16, carried out the arson attack by throwing a Molotov cocktail at the helicopter, only to be swiftly apprehended. While they claimed to have received instructions via Telegram, the mastermind behind the request remains unknown.

The Mi-8 helicopter, a widely used aircraft across military and civilian sectors, has faced a similar fate in a separate incident in Noyabrsk, Yamalo-Nenets, where two teenagers were promised 5 million rubles to ignite another Mi-8. This time, the suspects, Timur and Sasha, aged 13 and 14, suffered severe burns during the arson attempt and were captured shortly after.

With reports emerging of the helicopters being extensively damaged, the Ukrainian government has refrained from commenting on the incidents or possible involvement. These alarming events shed light on the dangerous allure of illicit activities among misguided youth, posing a threat to public safety and national security.
