The Rumbek Agar Youth Union Organization (RUMYU) Chairperson, Warkok Jur, recently urged international NGOs, civil society, and the State Government to help combat the unemployment crisis in Lakes State during the International Peace Day commemoration. Jur emphasized the importance of peace in achieving political and economic stability, stressing the need to unite cultures and train youth in maintaining peace.
Angelina Adhel, Chairperson of the Civil Society Network (CiSON) in Lakes State, highlighted their commitment to peacebuilding, justice promotion, and conflict management. Meanwhile, Rumbek Centre County Commissioner Dut Manak called on humanitarian agencies to intensify their efforts in supporting flood-affected communities in Lakes State.
Lakes State Peace Building Minister Nyanhok Malou Marial expressed gratitude to Governor Rin Tueny Mabor for instilling peace and freedom in the state. She emphasized the importance of peace in all aspects of life, including education, noting that without peace, children cannot access education and teachers cannot work effectively.
