President Yoon Suk-yeol and the leadership of the People Power Party are set to dine together today. The presidential office announced that President Yoon will have dinner with People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon and other party leaders at the Blue House in Yongsan. This meeting was initially scheduled for last month but was postponed due to “Chuseok livelihood response” reasons, following a disagreement over the postponement of medical school expansion until 2026. The dinner is expected to be attended by 16 members of the party, including Han Dong-hoon and Choi Won-in, along with key presidential office staff. Despite Han’s request for a one-on-one meeting with the president, the Blue House denied the request, stating that the dinner is meant to encourage the new party leadership. It is anticipated that the dinner will not fully address key issues such as the disagreement between the administration and the legislature, potentially widening the gap between the two sides.
