Osun cuts civil servants to 3 workdays due to high transport fare | Guardian Nigeria

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has taken steps to address high transportation costs by implementing re-scheduled working days for civil servants. In a circular from the Office of the Head of Service, the governor approved new working day schedules to alleviate the economic challenges faced by workers in the state.

Public servants on GL. 01 to GL.10 will now work three days a week, while those on GL12 to GL.17 will work four days a week. However, essential personnel such as medical staff, security officers, and political office holders are exempt from these changes.

In addition to the revised working days, Governor Adeleke has extended the payment of palliatives to public servants for the next two months, pending the implementation of the new minimum wage. All accounting officers in ministries, departments, and agencies of government have been directed to ensure compliance with these measures.

This proactive approach by the governor demonstrates his commitment to the well-being of workers and his responsiveness to the current economic situation in the country.
