European Parliament’s Left Group Condemns Israeli Attacks on Lebanon
The Left group of the European Parliament strongly condemned the Israeli attacks on Lebanon, stating that they disregarded Lebanon’s sovereignty, human rights, and international law. The attacks resulted in bombs hitting civilians, residential areas, medical personnel, and ambulances. The group criticized Israel’s far-right government for causing chaos in the region with the support of its western allies.
European lawmakers, including Kostas Arvanitis from Greece’s Syriza party and Irene Montero from Spain’s Podemos party, expressed their concerns over the war crimes committed by the Israeli government. They called for the suspension of the EU’s trade agreement with Israel and an arms embargo to stop the bloodshed.
Hezbollah and Israel have been involved in cross-border warfare since the Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip, resulting in numerous casualties. The international community has warned against the escalation of the conflict, which could have regional implications.
The European Parliament’s Left group urges immediate action to prevent further loss of lives and to hold the Israeli government accountable for its actions.
