Despite a brewing humanitarian crisis in south Lebanon, Lebanese and Palestinians alike are standing shoulder to shoulder to cope with another brutal Israeli war. Samaa Abu Sharar reports for the Palestine Chronicle from Beirut.

Hisham Youssef, a resident of the southern district of Beirut, escaped death twice during the Israeli raids in Lebanon. His story is just one of the many displacements and tragedies faced by the Lebanese people amidst the ongoing conflict. Thousands have fled to safer areas, seeking refuge with friends, family, and even strangers in a display of solidarity and survival.

The Lebanese government’s response has been criticized for its inadequacy in providing emergency shelters and support for the displaced population. As the violence persists, the Lebanese people remain in a state of anticipation, mirroring the devastation seen in other conflict-ridden regions like Gaza.

This harrowing situation serves as a reminder of the continued cycle of violence and displacement in the region, with the Lebanese people bracing themselves for the uncertain hours ahead.
