The Youth’s Shift Towards Authoritarianism

What does it mean to be born free? As the youth increasingly lose faith in democracy, they are beginning to entertain the idea of an authoritarian government. The talk of the “town” in the lead-up to elections makes it seem like the needs and priorities of the youth are once again being sidelined, asking them to wait in line with other issues.
Despite being constantly reminded that they are the future of the country, young people feel like they are left with hope but little action. The disillusionment with the current political landscape is leading them to consider alternative forms of governance.
