Breaking News: Two residents of Hadera arrested in connection with attempted assassination of senior intelligence target
Israeli media reported on Sunday that two individuals from Hadera have been detained on suspicion of involvement in the attempted assassination of a senior intelligence figure living in the city. The suspects, known to police for previous offenses, are being held for further questioning.
Five suspects in total have been apprehended in relation to the assassination plot, with more arrests expected. The incident unfolded in the early hours of the morning when police intercepted the suspects, armed and waiting for their target at a hotel in Hadera.
Prior to this attempt, the same target had narrowly escaped another assassination try in July. The suspects, residents of Netanya, were found in possession of firearms and are facing extended detention pending the investigation.
The senior intelligence target, a former convict with a history of violence, remains under police protection as the investigation continues.
