Although it is unclear if Favre’s disease is related to his football career, he estimates he may have suffered “thousands” of concussions during his time in the NFL. Scientists believe Parkinson’s is caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors, including head injuries.
Moreover, Favre advocated for welfare reform during the hearing, condemning the misuse of federal funds that tainted his reputation. Despite the controversy, Favre has emphasized his charity work supporting underserved children in Mississippi and Wisconsin.
Favre’s remarkable career included three MVP awards, a Super Bowl title with the Green Bay Packers, and induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016.
