Belarusian Yak-130 Fighter Jet Spotted near Kyiv

A Belarusian Yak-130 fighter jet, known as “Mitten” by NATO, breached Ukrainian airspace on Monday, Sept. 24, prompting an air alert in northern Ukraine. The incursion, reported by Ukraine’s Air Force, involved an aerial object crossing into Ukrainian territory near the Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions. The target, identified as a Yak-130, entered from Belarusian airspace and was not high-speed, according to the Air Force. This incident comes after a recent airspace violation involving a Belarusian Il-76TD military transport aircraft flying over Ukraine. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko previously accused Ukraine of violating Belarusian airspace with drones, leading to increased tensions between the two countries. The Yak-130 incident is currently under verification, and monitoring channels have confirmed the breach of Ukrainian airspace.
