The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Denis Becirovic, recently met with the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, at the United Nations headquarters. The discussion centered around bolstering defense cooperation and enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries. They also addressed the importance of Euro-Atlantic forces in the Western Balkans.
Both leaders highlighted the strong and friendly relations between their nations, emphasizing the potential for further collaboration on a multilateral level based on shared interests. Becirovic expressed gratitude to President Duda for Poland’s support of the Resolution on the Srebrenica Genocide and reaffirmed BiH’s dedication to joining NATO and the EU.
President Duda reiterated Poland’s unwavering support for BiH’s Euro-Atlantic integration and acknowledged the contribution of Polish soldiers in the EUFOR-ALTHEA mission. Both leaders stressed the need for NATO to increase its presence in the Western Balkans in light of Russia’s aggression in Ukraine.
Additionally, they discussed enhancing economic cooperation and improving foreign trade exchange between their countries. The meeting concluded with a firm commitment to supporting Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity.
