Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with UN Under Secretary-General Rabab Fatima in New York City during the 79th UN General Assembly session to discuss cooperation opportunities for Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries, and Small Island Developing States.
They highlighted the importance of leveraging cooperation opportunities between LLDCs, transit countries, and key international partners, emphasizing the vision of unblocking and inclusive use of regional communications. Minister Mirzoyan expressed Armenia’s commitment to promoting priorities and cooperation among LLDCs.
The officials discussed upcoming events, including the adoption of a new Programme of Action at the Third UN Conference on LLDCs in Botswana. They exchanged views on initiatives to advance LLDC priorities and the next chairmanship of the LLDC group.
The meeting emphasized Armenia’s role in promoting international cooperation and partnerships for sustainable development and connectivity in the region.
