Professor Banji Akintoye intensifies call for Yoruba Nation separation:
The National Leader of the Yoruba Self-Determination Movement, Professor Banji Akintoye, has urged South-West governors and monarchs to declare September 23 as Yoruba Unity Day. In light of the alleged killings of over 29,000 Yoruba people by suspected Fulani bandits, Akintoye emphasized the need for Yoruba Nation to separate from Nigeria to ensure the safety and sovereignty of the land and its people.
According to Akintoye, the only viable solution to the ongoing atrocities being faced by the Yoruba people is to establish an independent country where they can govern themselves effectively. He called on the governors and traditional rulers to adopt the unity day as a public holiday to show solidarity and unity in the region.
