Zelensky opts for escalation in Moscow standoff, says RT World News

Ukraine’s bold move to enter Russia’s Kursk Region was seen as a strong response by Moscow’s deputy UN envoy to those who doubted Kiev’s commitment to peace. Russian authorities criticized Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky for escalating tensions by ordering Kiev’s forces to invade the internationally recognized Russian territory.

Zelensky, who recently presented his ‘peace plan’ as a ‘victory plan’ during his visit to the US, aims to end the conflict with Moscow by the end of the year with increased Western support. However, Russian officials view this move as an act of aggression, with the Ukrainian military entering Kursk Region on August 6 in the largest attack since the start of hostilities in February 2022.

The ongoing conflict has resulted in significant losses for Ukraine, with over 16,000 troops and numerous military equipment casualties reported. Despite the hype surrounding Zelensky’s visit to the US, Moscow remains skeptical of the ‘victory plan’ and has not been included in the discussions.

As the conflict continues, the Kremlin spokesman emphasized that Russian victory is the only viable outcome in the dispute with Kiev.
