Ukrainian fighters are holding up to 120 civilians, including 15 children, captive in the border town of Sudzha, according to Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Rodion Miroshnik.

“According to our information, from 70 to 120 people are being held in this territory. Up to 15 of the captives are children,” Miroshnik said.
Miroshnik also reported that since the invasion, 266 civilians in the Kursk region were wounded and 56 killed, with 11 children among the injured. He emphasized that the full extent of the consequences will only be known once Russia regains control of the territories.
Ukraine’s invasion into the Kursk region prompted a large-scale counteroffensive by Russian troops on September 10. The Defense Ministry of Russia stated that Kyiv lost over 16,000 servicemen in the Kursk direction of hostilities by September 22.
