Israeli Property Tax Compensation Fund Director Assesses Rocket Damage

Amir Dahan, the director of the Israeli property tax compensation fund, recently visited various sites in the northern region that sustained damage from rocket fire. Damage was reported in areas far from the border with Lebanon, with buildings in Kiryat Bialik, Moreshet, Sde Yaakov, and Kibbutz Kadita being affected.

The total estimated property damage in the north due to the ongoing war amounts to around one billion shekels. The fund has increased the number of appraisal teams to 120 to handle the emergency situation. Assessing damages in border communities under constant rocket fire is challenging, but efforts using drones are underway.

Hundreds of homes and vehicles have been damaged or destroyed in the northern region since the war started. Compensation for property owners will be provided within a month for assessed damages, with more complex cases receiving payments in stages.

The nature of damage differs between the southern and northern borders, with the former experiencing more home fires and the latter facing damage from rocket fire. The fund is actively working to support those affected and expedite compensation processes.
