Pakistan PM Offers Condolences to Iran for Tabas Mine Tragedy

Shehbaz Sharif, en route to the United Nations General Assembly in New York, expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic loss of miners’ lives in Tabas. In a statement from the Prime Minister’s office, Sharif conveyed his sympathy to President Pezeshkian and expressed solidarity with the victims’ families and the Iranian government.

Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, also offered condolences and expressed sorrow over the accident. The mine explosion in Tabas occurred due to a methane gas emission, resulting in the death of several workers. Rescue operations are currently underway with eight specialized teams.
