Commercial drivers in Ogun State are protesting against the multiple levies imposed on them by transport union workers, causing significant hardship. The drivers, mainly minibus operators, are struggling with increased fares, rising fuel prices, and vehicle parts costs.
Driver Moses Ademoyegun expressed the unbearable extortion from Agberos, leading to their protest. He highlighted the economic hardships affecting his children’s education due to declining income.
Another driver, Joseph, called on the state government to intervene and prevent the imposition of multiple levies, stressing the adverse effects on drivers without any benefits in return.
The drivers are pleading for Governor Abiodun’s assistance in addressing the issue and putting an end to the extortion they face daily. A call for support to alleviate their financial burdens and ensure fair treatment in the industry.
