US Ambassador Donald Bloom meets Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz
United States’ Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Bloom visited Jati Umra residence to meet with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz. The meeting discussed various matters related to bilateral relations between Pakistan and the US.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar also met with Ambassador Donald Blome to review the latest developments in Pak-US bilateral relations. This meeting comes in the wake of the US House of Representatives passing a resolution urging Pakistan to uphold democratic institutions, human rights, and the rule of law.
The resolution, titled ‘Expressing support for democracy and human rights in Pakistan’, emphasizes the importance of upholding democratic values, human rights, and the rule of law in Pakistan. It also condemns any attempts to suppress the people’s participation in democracy through harassment, intimidation, or violations of their rights.
It is crucial for both countries to work together to strengthen their relationship and uphold democratic principles for the benefit of their people.
