The National Digital Economy Program: Driving Oman’s Future
The third round of the National Digital Economy Program was recently launched in Buraimi, with a focus on promoting digital infrastructure to support Oman Vision 2040. Organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, the event brought together key entities such as the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, and the Central Bank of Oman.
The program revolves around eight executive pillars, including Government Digital Transformation, E-Commerce, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and more. These initiatives play a vital role in strengthening Oman’s digital economy and preparing the country for future technological advancements.
The event featured presentations and discussions on topics like e-commerce, financial technologies, and digital transformation. It aimed to engage government employees, students, and job seekers, encouraging open dialogue to gather feedback and ideas for the program’s future direction.
Officials stressed the importance of decentralization and encouraged active participation from all Omani governorates to achieve collective success. The National Digital Economy Program is paving the way for a digitally advanced and economically prosperous future for Oman.
